Red paint with black interior and carpets; choice of black Ford Ka or black retro-race Buckets seats. Fitted with a Nardi wooden rim steering wheel with matching wooden dash, door tops and transmission tunnel with arm rest cubby hole. Laminated windscreen and heated rear-screen, heater, two-speed wipers, modern Radio/CD with four speakers. The Ford Cortina GT 1599cc engine has been bored out to 1750cc with Twin 40 Dellorto Carburettors with Electronic Ignition, producing a claimed 150bhp. Four speed gearbox. Spare alloy wheel.
Eleven owners, but the last family since 2004. Owner maintained, but a reasonable file of bills/receipts/old MOTs. Originally black when first built, but a colour change to blue in the 8Ts and then I guess a body off rebuild in the mid/late 9Ts and the speedo reset to zero at this point? Or it could just be a super low mileage example. (I'd love to hear from any previous owners who remember the car.)
Still in really great everyday useable condition with an excellent chassis, very presentable paintwork, super shutlines and doors that actually fit. One Lucas key which works the ignition and the door lock. Consensus is you could add value by fitting a retro look stereo, original side/indicator lights, Vixen seats; and re-trimming the transmission tunnel.
It's relatively rare, TVR only made 438 S2 Vixens, which combines the dainty 6Ts TVR looks, but with the longer doors and interior for the bigger 21st Century owner. |
